Happy Spring Break!

Skating was a huge success.  Thanks to all those that drove, helped to tie and untie skates and help with helmets.  All the students made progress in developing their skating skills, regardless of whether they had skated much before or not!  It was fun to have this opportunity with our big buddy class.

Please be sure to sign up for conferences on the parent portal.  Please email me if you want to have a virtual conference instead of in person!  I need to alter times and adjustments for zoom conferences which is not possible on the parent portal.

I tried to ensure that all students had some new books in their book bag for over the break, as well as their Reader's Workshop book that they will be presenting to the class during our first week back.

I hope you all have a great two weeks and are able to have some adventures and quality family time.

March 3/23

These are portraits of what your child thinks they'll look like when they are 100!  Many of you saw these in person today and guessed which one your child created but for those that didn't please see below. These will be in their memory books, so will be coming home at the end of the year.

With our big buddies we learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and his dream for equality and freedom for all races/colours of people.  The globe below is our brainstormed words that described Martin Luther King. We then we each thought of our own dreams for a better society and created these people.

Conferences this term are not until after spring break, however sign up will be posted on March 6th after school.  Please email me if you want to have a virtual conference instead of in person!  I need to alter times and adjustments for zoom conferences which is not possible on the parent portal.

Skating is Friday, March 10th.  If you haven't done so already please sign up on the portal.  I think at this point I believe we just have enough, but I do need to confirm with Mrs. Labelle as we have siblings, so need to divide up the students.  Drivers we currently have are, Kaylee's mom, Zack's mom, Lila's mom, Dominic's dad and Sukhtej, Viktor and August will be going with their own parent.  We will be leaving right after lunch, if parents could please arrive at 12:20 that would be great.  My plan is that students will just eat instead of playing first, hopefully the hot lunch will arrive on time.  Don't forget to pack your child's gear for skating and send in cash if they are renting skates and helmets.  Please note bike helmets are not allowed.

School is Out for SUMMER!!

We had a very busy, but fun last week of school.  Our teddy bear picnic was cut short due to our long assembly but we continued it Thursday ...
