November 9/22

Div. 11 made a beautiful Remembrance Day Bulletin Board.

Your child has brought home a few Remembrance Day poems and songs as well as an Animals at War activity booklet which they can complete and keep at home.

Important Dates and Reminders:

*Thursday, Nov. 10 - NID (no school for students)

*Friday, Nov. 11 - Remembrance Day  (no school)

*Please note that November is Club RED -  hopefully your child is reading each day, you are initialling their calendar and they colour that square.                                                                                                  *Next week we have two important Club RED activities.  Tuesday is our Tongue Twister Day, if you could please review this with your child and have them write out a tongue twister that they can practice and share with their classmates and the adults.  This is just another great way to encourage reading!  Also students are encouraged to bring in up to 5 slightly used books for our book swap on Nov. 22nd.  More information about this is on the parent portal.

*Wednesday, Nov. 16th - Sign up for student conferences (this will be posted by 4 pm at the latest.        In looking ahead to our student-led conferences on Dec. 1 & 2,  I'm trying to plan ahead and organize the best way to set these up so could you please email if you unable to attend the conference with your child in person and would prefer a virtual zoom conference. It is an approximate 30 minute commitment (1st 15 minutes with your child in the hall to go through their work and celebrate their work and then up to 15 minutes with me).

Below are some pictures from our Book Cafe and book tasting event which the students of Div. 11 seemed to really enjoy.
